This medical malpractice action involved the misdiagnosis of a young man as merely suffering a "black eye" after being assaulted, when it turned out that he had actually suffered a traumatic brain injury. Unfortunately, the hospital and emergency room physicians failed to conduct a complete, comprehensive physical examination of the plaintiff.
The plaintiff was later found to have suffered a large, rapidly expanding left acute subdural hematoma. It was alleged that had the defendant hospital and emergency room staff timely diagnosed the extent of the plaintiff’s injuries, he might not have needed to undergo a craniotomy or be declared mentally incompetent
Scott Epstein at Antin, Ehrlich & Epstein obtained a $3,000,00.00 settlement on his behalf.
