A construction worker was in the basement of a building doing demolition when he was struck in the head by a 12-foot long wood beam that became dislodged from between two brick columns.
As a result of the incident, the plaintiff suffered a fractured skull, multiple facial lacerations, and a herniated disk. He had to undergo surgery for his injuries and was left with permanent scars on his neck and face.
Scott Epstein obtained a $4,400,000.00 verdict on the injured worker's behalf.
