The estate of a driver who was killed after he was struck by a car which had crossed the double yellow line on a road sued Orange County because of the poor driving conditions on the road. The man, who died of a lacerated liver, was hit by a driver who was traveling at a safe speed but “floated” across the roadway because the pavement had become polished.
Scott Epstein were able to reach a settlement for the estate of the deceased man for $1,360,000 from the County for previously ignoring the problems with the road.
