The construction industry can be dangerous and is rife with injury. Manhattan construction workers operate heavy tools and equipment on a daily basis. A pipe fitter had to be rescued recently after a hammer was said to have fallen on his head. He was about two stories above the ground fixing the pipes in a building when the accident occurred. It is unclear if someone else was working with him and what caused the tool to fall in the first place. Emergency personnel were called to provide medical assistance and rescue the pipe fitter from his raised position. He was taken to the hospital in stable condition.
If doctors find that the pipe fitter has a major concussion or discover other serious head injuries, he will likely be out of work for a great deal of time.
